Itinerary


Day 1 & 2
Arrive Denver International Airport for two nights’ stay in Denver, The Mile High City
Full day to explore Denver’s walkable Lower Downtown (LoDo) including the shops and dining in the 16th Str Mall and Larimer Square. Be sure to visit the Denver Art Gallery, have a drink in one of Denver’s many craft breweries and catch a concert at the Red Rocks Amphitheatre (20 mins drive from LoDo) - Rolling Stone Magazine’s best outdoor concert venue in the US!
Overnight in Denver - Renaissance Denver Downtown City Center
 
Day 3 
Estes Park is the gateway to the Rocky Mountain National Park. Take the scenic Trail Ridge Road with its many spectacular views of the Rockies and wildlife.

Day 4  
The drive through Glenwood Canyon is considered one of the most scenic “interstate highway” drives in the USA and why not stop to have a soak in the world’s largest mineral hot springs pool in Glenwood springs.

Day 5 
Colorado Wine Country/Colorado National Monument
The Colorado National Monument is one of the state’s unsung treasures. Enjoy the views via the Rimrock Drive or take a hike on one of the well-marked trails or raft the mighty Colorado River. Then take a bike tour around Grand Junctions 22 wineries.

Day 6  
Durango/Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad
The jewel in the crown of Colorado’s 8 spectacular historic railroads.  The Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad will take you through the Animas River wilderness and San Juan Mountains. Stop off in Silverton, the old mining town is an ideal location for lunch before heading back to Durango.

Day 7  
Mesa Verde National Park is a Unesco World Heritage Site and home to 1500 year old native American cliff dwellings and over 5000 other archaeological sites.

Day 8
Depart early and drive to Great Sand Dunes National Park.  Home to 750 ft high sand dunes with the 14,000ft Sangre de Cristo mountains as a backdrop. If you are feeling adventurous rent a sled and go sand tobogganing! Or head straight to Colorado Springs and stop by the Garden of the Gods (voted the USA’s #1 city park) or take the cog railway to the top of Pikes Peak!
